There is only one thing more irritating than an asshole. An asshole with a speech impediment.
Did a shift this morning and then another tonight.
The first ride was dropped off at the Toyota Service area in Round Rock and the next rider was waiting for me there. The next rider was from Russia and spoke excellent English. We had two very interesting conversations, the first about languages and the second of his profession that is related to detecting the possibility of cancer in a person at the DNA level. Amazing.
Took a nice-looking lady to Manor and was bounced around there for a while. Stopped and filled up with gas at the now famous gas station where I took the gas can man, and then took him there again to retrieve his wallet that he left on the counter.
So, Mr. A. Hole that is mentioned above, and his sister requested a ride from Manor to South Austin. He had walked down the driveway with a limp and was carrying a fucking board with him to supposedly help him walk. He asked if it was okay to bring it with him and said yes just keep in on the floor. His sister was older than him and was nice. She almost seemed to be his caretaker. At one point she suggested that he do something and his response was, "why, because you went to college?" It came to the surface that someone has stolen his cell phone and had left the Find My Phone feature activated and they were on their way to confront the thief and regain possession of the phone. I begin to formulate a plan on getting him out of my vehicle as soon as possible and was not going to accept any requests to "wait for us down the street". When we were about 5 minutes away from the address, his sister made a phone call and in overhearing the conversation I realized that she was coordinating the confrontation with the Austin Police Department. That sounded much better but I still wasn't going to wait around. He was pissed at me because I wouldn't stop at a gas station so he could get something "if he was going to do this". I don't think that board is a crutch at all. We drove past the address and down the street to drop them off. Before anyone opened any doors he demanded that I turn off the inside lights. I asked why and his sister echoed my question. He said that they would be able to see them getting out of the car. I am thinking, really? What the fuck? His sister is out of the car and he opens the door and is just setting there. We are in the middle of a dark street and the moment I hear his door shut, I am launching my ass out of here. He finally stands up and closes the door. Within milliseconds my headlight are on and the vehicle is accelerating to WARP 10.
I stopped the app and started looking for a Whataburger. The closest one was nearby at Riverside and Lamar but I decided not to stop at the one as there is usually a collection of homeless morons hovering around that area. Ended up at the one on 1431 and Parmer.
